ASSESSOR'S OFFICE

NYS Veterans 100% Disability Exemption

There has been a lot of discussion and inquiries regarding the new NYS Veterans 100% disability exemption. I have inquired as to what the requirements are to qualify for the exemption. I am currently still researching what forms need to be submitted along with which offices at the Veterans Administration the forms would be submitted to, to qualify for this exemption.
This is NOT a blanket exemption for all veterans with a 100% disability rating. Despite public perception, the law does not provide a total exemption for all veterans receiving a 100% disability compensation rating from the VA.

Our Beaches

Note: Pursuant to NYS Guidelines, Niagara County Dept. of Health must test the waters weekly for bacterial count. Testing is performed every week on Mondays, In the event of a failed test the beach is re-tested on Wednesday of the same week. Information about this testing can be found on the County's website.

Any questions about the status of the beach, please call the Newfane Town Hall: (716) 778-8822

*Please follow any posted beach closure notice from the Niagara Country Department of Health, relating to temporary closures of water access from our beaches. Like many maritime communities around the Great Lakes, those postings can occur due to aggressive clean water testing to protect us all. The beaches themselves remain open, but you may be asked to stay out of the water if it is an area that has been temporarily identified as an area to close until it's deemed safe to use.
